Hey I wanna become a makeup artist In order to get a Job somewhere do I need to take cosmetology classes first ? I’m only 18

Hi Jen! You don’t need to have a Cosmetology license to do makeup, but I’m not sure how it works if you were to do makeup out of a hair salon. If you’re doing makeup as a freelance artist, you don’t need a license.

hi:) i came across your instagram when looking through tags and I love you work! I’m only 17 and I’m currently trying to work my way into the make-up industry. I was just wondering if you had any pointers on how to go about starting off my career? I’d really love to work in MAC but im not to sure how to go about applying. it would be a great help, thanks x

Hi hun! Thanks for reaching out to me! I think you’re heading in the right direction by trying to get a job at Mac (or any makeup counter). I’m not sure what the application process is for Mac but you should definitely go in and ask a manager about it. If you can’t get a job there, you should totally try Sephora so you can get a wide range of product knowledge, since they have a million brands there. Hope this helped…feel free to email me anytime: makeupbysharona@gmail.com

      Hi there,
Thank you so much! I probably won’t have another workshop for a few months since my due date is next week! I do hold 1-on-1 lessons and will be resuming these at the end of April if you are interested. Email me at makeupbysharona@gmail.com if you would like more info!
